Why I Wrote A 90-Day Walk With God—And Why It Might Be Exactly What You Need Right
1. The Moment This Song Became Personal
I’ve listened to Tamela Mann’s song, Take Me to the King, many times before.
But on the day I started writing A 90-Day Walk With God, something felt different.
I wasn’t just hearing the song—I was feeling it.
“Truth is I’m tired, options are few. I’m trying to pray, but where are You?”
I had to pause.
Because that was me.
At that moment, I thought about the countless people inside and outside the church who feel exactly like this:
- Tired.
- Spiritually drained.
- Weary from life’s struggles.
- Disconnected from God.
Then came the line that hit me the hardest:
“I’m all churched out, hurt and abused. I can’t fake, what’s left to do?”
I knew then that this wasn’t just a song—this was the prayer of so many believers.
They love God, but they’re running on empty.
They show up to church, but they’re not feeling connected.
They try to pray, but it feels like God is distant.
I knew this because I had been there, too.
That’s when I felt God speaking to my heart:
“Do you know how many people feel this way? How many believers are exhausted, lost, and in need of renewal?”
That moment changed everything.
It was then that I knew—I had to write this devotional.
2. Why I Wrote A 90-Day Walk With God
This devotional wasn’t just a good idea—it was something I felt God pressed upon my heart.
Because I’ve been there.
I’ve had moments where:
- I felt spiritually stuck, like I was going through the motions.
- I tried to pray but felt like God wasn’t hearing me.
- I showed up to church but still felt empty inside.
And I realized something:
So many believers experience this.
Faith isn’t always a straight path—sometimes we drift away, get tired, or feel lost.
But the truth is, God never moves.
He is always calling us back to Him.
That’s what this devotional is all about: A step-by-step journey back to God.
A structured way to rekindle your faith when you feel distant.
A daily reminder that God is with you—even when you don’t feel Him.
This guide is for: Anyone feeling spiritually exhausted.
Anyone who feels like their faith has faded but wants to return.
Anyone who feels disconnected from God and doesn’t know where to start.
Anyone who simply wants to deepen their relationship with God.
3. How to Use A 90-Day Walk With God
If you’re struggling spiritually, the last thing you need is something complicated.
That’s why this guide is designed to take just 10-15 minutes per day.
I know life is busy.
When I wrote From the Pulpit to the Pew, I talked about how many believers feel too busy to fit in scripture reading, prayer, and meditation.
That’s why I made this devotional simple and doable.
I’m only asking for 10-15 minutes a day for 90 days.
You can do it: In the morning before you start your day.
On your lunch break.
During a short work break.
At night before bed.
You can take longer if you want—but just commit to 10-15 minutes. That’s all it takes.
Here are seven ways to make the most of this journey:
1. Set aside time each day – Whether morning or evening, create a sacred space to engage with God.
2. Journal your reflections – Writing your thoughts and prayers will help deepen your connection with the material.
3. Pray intentionally – Ask God to reveal His truth and speak to your heart each day.
4. Apply what you learn – Take small, intentional steps to live out your renewed faith.
5. Consider sharing your journey – If possible, walk through this guide with a friend, spouse, or small group for encouragement and accountability.
6. Have a Bible with you – Whether it’s a physical book or a digital device, having the Word of God in your hands will help you engage more deeply.
7. Use this guide in a study group – If you are in a weekly Bible study, review the previous week’s readings and journal reflections before meeting.
- Best option: Meet in-person for deeper discussion.
- Alternative: Meet virtually (Zoom, Teams, etc.).
- Timeframe: A weekly session should take 1–1.5 hours to discuss key themes, share experiences, and encourage one another.
📌 This is more than just a book—it’s a life-changing journey.
Churches, Bible study groups, and prayer partners—this is for you, too.
If you’re leading a small group, I encourage you to:
✔ Get multiple copies for your congregation, leadership team, or Bible study.
✔ Encourage accountability—check in on each other’s progress.
✔ Use the weekly discussions to go deeper into God’s Word together.
By the end of these 90 days, I believe you will experience renewal, restoration, and revival in your walk with God.
Let’s do this together!
4. The Invitation: Will You Walk With God for the Next 90 Days?

- You don’t have much to give—just a tired, worn-out heart.
- You want revival, but you’re not sure if you have the strength to seek it.
If that’s you, I want to personally invite you to start this journey.
The next 90 days can change everything.
All you have to do is take the first step.
